Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has received members of the Forum of Former Councillors (2012–2015) from the M5 axis of Adamawa North at the Government House, Yola, where they expressed support for his 2027 senatorial ambition.
The former councillors, drawn from communities across Adamawa North, endorsed Governor Fintiri’s bid to represent the Adamawa North Senatorial District, while also using the engagement to share their views on ongoing development projects and the needs of their respective communities.
Governor Fintiri appreciated the group for its support and constructive feedback, noting that such engagements remained important in assessing the impact of government projects and identifying areas requiring further attention.
He said his administration would continue to prioritise the reconstruction and rehabilitation of communities affected by insurgency, particularly across Mubi North, Maiha, Michika and other parts of the state.
The Governor reiterated his commitment to fulfilling promises made to the people, stressing that the administration would continue to address outstanding claims and ensure that legitimate obligations are given due attention.
Fintiri said the government would remain focused on delivering projects and interventions capable of improving living conditions, restoring economic activities and strengthening communities across Adamawa North.
The engagement further underscored growing political consultations ahead of the 2027 elections, as stakeholders and groups across the senatorial district continue to express their positions on the Governor’s proposed move from the state’s executive leadership to the National Assembly.
