Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has received his Taraba State counterpart, Governor Agbu Kefas, who led a high-powered delegation to the Government House, Yola, to condole with the state over the death of former Governor of the defunct Gongola State and elder statesman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur.
Governor Fintiri described the passing of the former governor as a monumental loss to Adamawa State and Nigeria, given his significant contributions to the country’s political and economic development.
He said Bamanga Tukur left behind a lasting legacy of leadership and service, adding that his contributions to public life would continue to be remembered by generations.
Fintiri also highlighted the deep historical ties and shared heritage between Adamawa and Taraba States, describing the longstanding relationship between the two states as a source of strength and solidarity, particularly during difficult moments.
The Governor expressed appreciation to Governor Kefas and members of his delegation for their condolence visit, describing the gesture as a demonstration of brotherhood and genuine solidarity with the people of Adamawa.
He prayed Almighty Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the late elder statesman, grant him Aljannatul Firdausi and give his family and loved ones the strength to bear the loss.
