Gov Fintiri Receives Remains of Former Governor Bamanga Tukur in Yola

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has joined the family of the late former Governor of Gongola State and elder statesman, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, to receive his remains at the Yola International Airport.

Governor Fintiri was accompanied by Barrister Auwal Tukur and members of the deceased’s family during the solemn arrival, as the state continued preparations to bid farewell to one of its prominent political figures.

Following the arrival, the Governor and the family proceeded to Tukur Lodge, where prayers were offered for the repose of the late elder statesman.

Fintiri described the death of Bamanga Tukur as a monumental loss to Adamawa State, noting the deceased’s significant contributions to the state and the nation during his lifetime.

The Governor prayed Almighty Allah to forgive Tukur’s shortcomings, grant him Aljannatul Firdausi and give the family, associates and the people of Adamawa the strength to bear the loss.

Funeral prayers for the late former Governor are scheduled to take place at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 13, at the Lamido’s Palace in Yola, after which his remains will be laid to rest.

The state government had earlier declared three days of mourning in honour of Bamanga Tukur, with government flags to fly at half-mast throughout the mourning period.
