Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the welfare of veterinary professionals and strengthening the state’s livestock sector.
Governor Fintiri stated this when he received the leadership of the Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA), Adamawa State Branch, on a courtesy visit at the Government House, Yola.
The Governor acknowledged the critical role veterinarians play in protecting public health, ensuring animal health and safety, and supporting the growth of the livestock economy.
He said his administration would continue to address the welfare and occupational health concerns of veterinary professionals while creating an enabling environment for them to discharge their responsibilities effectively.
Governor Fintiri also highlighted ongoing efforts to provide modern infrastructure and facilities capable of transforming livestock production and marketing in the state.
According to him, the administration’s ongoing project to complete one of Africa’s largest cattle markets is part of broader efforts to improve animal health, strengthen livestock commerce and increase revenue generation for Adamawa State.
He stressed that investment in veterinary services and livestock infrastructure remains essential to building a stronger agricultural economy and improving the livelihoods of people who depend on the sector.
