In a major step toward strengthening infrastructure, the Adamawa State Ministry of Works and Energy Development has conducted the bidding process for the construction of a 24.1km road linking Maiha Local Government to Mubi Local Government Area.
The bidding exercise, held at the Ministry’s Conference Hall, brought together stakeholders, representatives of professional bodies, and key players from relevant fields.
Welcoming participants, Commissioner for Works and Energy Development, Hon. Adamu Atiku Abubakar, said the bidding exercise is a standard procedure leading to the award of contracts. He noted that the Ministry has fully adopted e-procurement to guarantee transparency and accountability in line with Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s commitment to due process.
He assured contractors that selection would be based strictly on merit, efficiency, and proven capacity to deliver quality projects within specified timelines.
During the session, Director of Procurement, Mr. Abubakar Bello, presented submissions from contractors as follows:

- Datun Construction Company – ₦22,430,737,559
- Raycon Construction Nig. Ltd – ₦16,156,607,838
- Rocad Construction Company – ₦16,660,579,767
- Triacta Nig. Ltd – ₦14,986,896,167
The contractors affirmed the accuracy of their submitted figures.
Speaking on behalf of the bidders, Engr. Bitrus Ijaduwa Apagu commended the e-procurement process, urging other government MDAs to adopt it, citing its transparency and fairness.
Representatives from the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Bureau for Public Procurement (BPP), Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), and the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Management (CIPSM) also lauded the Ministry’s approach, describing it as a model for fairness and transparency.
Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Engr. Mohammed Suleiman, expressed appreciation to Governor Fintiri for entrusting the Ministry with key developmental projects. He assured that the bidding process would undergo proper evaluation by the designated committee, urging the eventual winner to ensure quality and timely delivery.
The Maiha–Mubi road project, when completed, is expected to enhance connectivity, ease transportation, and stimulate economic activities across the axis and Adamawa State at large.
