Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has arrived in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital, to participate in the 12th meeting of the North East Governors’ Forum, scheduled to hold tomorrow.
On arrival at the Government House, Governor Fintiri was received by his host, Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State, in a warm and colourful reception ceremony that featured an inspection of a guard of honour mounted by officers of the Taraba State Police Command.

The North East Governors’ Forum, currently chaired by Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, serves as a critical platform for regional collaboration among the six states of the North East geopolitical zone. It provides an avenue for joint deliberations on key issues such as insecurity, infrastructure development, economic growth, and humanitarian challenges confronting the region.
Governor Fintiri is expected to make strong contributions during the meeting, particularly on Adamawa’s ongoing interventions in security management, agricultural transformation, youth empowerment, and the digital economy. His administration’s focus on building resilience through initiatives such as the Adamawa 2.0 digital agenda, massive investment in infrastructure, and support for displaced communities is seen as a model that can inspire collective action across the region.
The 12th session is anticipated to yield fresh strategies for strengthening peace and stability in the zone while promoting sustainable development. A communiqué outlining resolutions and next steps will be issued at the end of the meeting.
