Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State on Tuesday visited the Waduku, Lakan, and Rugange communities in Lamurde Local Government Area following a recent outbreak of communal violence that left residents displaced and properties destroyed.
During the visit, Governor Fintiri sympathized with victims of the clash, assuring them that the state government is taking active steps to ensure justice is served and security restored. He described the violence as “regrettable and unacceptable,” emphasizing that peace remains non-negotiable in Adamawa.
“Violence solves nothing,” the governor said. “We must choose dialogue over conflict. Our diversity should be our strength not a reason for division.”

The governor toured the affected areas to assess the extent of the damage and instructed security agencies to intensify surveillance and prevent further breakdown of law and order. He also called on traditional rulers, community leaders, and youth groups to work collaboratively in fostering dialogue and reconciliation among the affected communities.
Governor Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to building a peaceful and inclusive Adamawa, adding that justice, healing, and reconstruction would follow swiftly for those impacted.
As investigations continue into the cause of the clash, the government has urged residents to remain calm and report any suspicious activities to authorities.
