The Adamawa State Government has received a consignment of hospital equipment and consumables donated by the International Rescue Committee (IRC) to boost healthcare services across the state.
At the handover ceremony in Yola, IRC’s Senior Program Manager, Mr. Diale Diftuffe, reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to improving access to quality healthcare. Field Coordinator, Mr. Golfa Timothy, explained that the intervention is part of IRC’s humanitarian response and resilience-building efforts in Adamawa’s health sector.

Representatives of the Hospital Services Management Board and the Director of Public Health, Mr. Nuhu Yahaya, commended the IRC for its consistent support and called for sustained collaboration.
Receiving the items on behalf of the state, the Commissioner for Health—represented by Permanent Secretary, Pharmacist Zirra Mathias Bubanani—thanked the IRC and assured that the equipment and consumables would be distributed to health facilities to improve service delivery.
The donation included bedsheets, mattresses, syringes, surgical gloves, cotton wool, IV fluids, infusion sets, drugs such as Amoxicillin and Paracetamol, detergents, solar lamps, and rechargeable fans, among other critical items.
The gesture is expected to enhance the capacity of health facilities, particularly in underserved communities across Adamawa.
