Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has expressed profound sorrow over the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari, joining the rest of the nation in mourning a leader who, he said, remained steadfast in his commitment to Nigeria’s unity, integrity, and progress.
In a heartfelt message on behalf of the government and people of Adamawa State, Governor Fintiri described the late president as a man who devoted his life to national service both as a military ruler and as a democratically elected leader.

“President Muhammadu Buhari, in both military and democratic roles, stood firm for unity, integrity, and progress,” the governor stated. “We join the nation in mourning the loss of a leader whose legacy of patriotism and sacrifice will continue to guide generations yet unborn.”
Governor Fintiri extended his deepest condolences to the late president’s wife, Her Excellency Aisha Buhari whom he fondly referred to as “our own daughter of Adamawa” and to the entire Buhari family.
“May Allah (SWT) grant him Aljanatu Firdaus,” Fintiri prayed, “and may his memory continue to inspire the values of discipline, humility, and national duty.”
The passing of the former president has prompted a nationwide wave of tributes, underscoring his complex but lasting impact on Nigeria’s sociopolitical landscape.
