Gov Fintiri Receives Vice President Shettima in Yola, as FG Mourns Bamanga Tukur

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has received Vice President Kashim Shettima, who led a high-powered Federal Government delegation to Yola to condole with the government and people of Adamawa State over the death of elder statesman and former national political leader, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur.

The Vice President’s visit was part of efforts by the Federal Government to stand with the people of Adamawa during the period of mourning following the passing of the revered elder statesman, popularly known as the Tafida Adamawa.

Governor Fintiri expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Shettima for the visit and for identifying with the people of the state at a difficult moment.

He described the late Bamanga Tukur as a remarkable statesman whose contributions to Adamawa State and Nigeria would remain part of the nation’s political and developmental history.

The Governor noted that the presence of the Vice President and the Federal Government delegation in Yola demonstrated solidarity with the bereaved family, the Adamawa State Government and the people of the state as they honour the life and legacy of the late elder statesman.

The visit further underscored the national significance of Bamanga Tukur’s passing and the wide-ranging relationships he built during his years of public service and leadership.
