Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Saturday led the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign train to Ganye, drumming up support for the party’s candidate, Barrister Mohammed Buba Joda, ahead of the August 16 state constituency bye-election.
Addressing a large crowd of party supporters and residents, Governor Fintiri urged the people of Ganye to vote based on competence and track record, rather than ethnic or political sentiments.

“We must not allow emotions to derail our progress. Vote for someone who can deliver, not just someone who can shout,” Fintiri said. “Barr. Joda has the experience, the vision, and the capacity to give Ganye the quality representation it deserves.”
The governor emphasized that the PDP remains committed to inclusive development and responsive governance, and that electing a competent legislator will further strengthen the delivery of democratic dividends in the constituency.
The rally marks a key moment in the lead-up to the bye-election, as party leaders intensify grassroots mobilization efforts across the zone.
