Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri on Tuesday met with elder statesman Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma and Agbu Kefas at the Defence Headquarters in Abuja, where they pressed for decisive federal action over renewed attacks affecting communities in Adamawa and Taraba States.
The engagement focused on the worsening security situation in parts of Adamawa State and Taraba State, with the leaders demanding stronger and more coordinated military intervention to halt the violence.

Governor Fintiri stressed that the protection of lives and property remains non-negotiable, warning that affected communities cannot continue to live under fear. He called for intelligence-driven operations, sustained troop presence, and firm measures to dismantle criminal elements destabilizing border areas between the two states.
General TY Danjuma’s presence underscored the gravity of the meeting, as discussions centered on strengthening collaboration between federal security forces and state governments to prevent further attacks.
Governor Kefas also emphasized the need for coordinated cross-border security strategies, noting that criminal networks often exploit shared boundaries between Taraba and Adamawa.
The meeting signals growing pressure on federal security authorities to move beyond routine assurances and deliver concrete results on the ground. For the leaders present, the message was clear: safeguarding citizens is a constitutional duty that must be met with urgency and resolve.
