Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has expressed deep sorrow over the death of His Imperial Majesty, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, describing him as a revered custodian of Yoruba culture and tradition.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Governor Fintiri extended heartfelt condolences to Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde and the people of Ibadan on behalf of the government and people of Adamawa State.
“Oba Owolabi Olakulehin was a revered custodian of tradition. His wisdom, leadership, and deep connection to the people of Ibadanland will be profoundly missed,” Fintiri said. “I extend my heartfelt condolences to my brother, Governor Seyi Makinde, and the good people of Ibadanland during this time of grief.”

Governor Fintiri prayed for the peaceful repose of the late monarch’s soul and called for unity and strength among the people of Oyo State as they bid farewell to a highly respected traditional ruler.
“May his soul rest in perfect peace,” the governor concluded.
Oba Olakulehin’s passing marks the end of an era in the rich traditional leadership of Ibadan, one of Nigeria’s most culturally significant cities.
