The Adamawa State Government has commissioned a Displacement Data Tracking Centre at the headquarters of the Ministry for Reconstruction, Rehabilitation, Reintegration and Humanitarian Services (MRRR&HS), marking a major step forward in managing displacement and recovery efforts across the state.
The initiative, spearheaded by the Honourable Commissioner, Hon. Bello Hamman Diram, reflects the state’s commitment under Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri to evidence-based humanitarian planning and durable solutions for displaced populations.
The commissioning ceremony drew high-level participants, including the Global Deputy Director General of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the IOM Nigeria Chief of Mission, and representatives of European Union embassies. The project is a joint collaboration between the IOM and the Adamawa State Government.
Speaking at the event, Hon. Diram praised the partnership and emphasized the Fintiri administration’s steadfast support for development partners, noting that the Centre would significantly boost the state’s capacity to respond to displacement challenges.




The new Displacement Data Tracking Centre is equipped with:
- A 15kVA solar power system
- Starlink internet connectivity
- Multiple desktop and laptop computers
- A high-definition LED display
- Tablets for field data collection
- Other advanced ICT tools
Two specially trained ministry staff, proficient in ICT and data management, will manage the Centre to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely tracking of displacement data.
The facility is expected to improve planning, coordination, and implementation of humanitarian and recovery interventions, further strengthening Adamawa’s leadership in advancing durable solutions for vulnerable communities.
