Governor Fintiri, UNDP Empower 2,500 Households in Madagali to Rebuild Livelihoods

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to rebuilding lives and restoring hope in insurgency-affected areas, as 2,500 households in Madagali Local Government Area received empowerment support in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).

The initiative, flagged off on Thursday, October 30, 2025, provided beneficiaries with cash grants, vocational kits, and fish farming inputs a comprehensive intervention aimed at boosting income, fostering self-reliance, and enhancing food security.

Speaking during the exercise, Governor Fintiri described the programme as “real action” that directly impacts lives and strengthens community resilience. “Today, we empowered 2,500 households in Madagali with cash grants, vocational kits, and fish farming inputs in partnership with UNDP. This is real action, lifting over 10,000 people out of poverty and rebuilding lives across insurgency-affected communities,” the governor said.

The governor commended UNDP for its steadfast partnership and reaffirmed that the Adamawa State Government will continue to prioritize empowerment initiatives that address the root causes of poverty and displacement, particularly in areas recovering from insurgency.

Residents and community leaders in Madagali expressed gratitude for the intervention, noting that it represents renewed hope and tangible progress toward sustainable recovery.

Governor Fintiri’s latest empowerment drive reinforces his administration’s inclusive development agenda one that ensures every community in Adamawa benefits from peace, opportunity, and growth.
