Governor Fintiri Mourns Alhaji Aminu Dantata, Describes Him as a Pillar of Nigerian Commerce and Humanity

Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, describing the revered elder statesman as a “pillar of Nigeria” and a man whose life embodied “service, humility, and legacy.”

In a heartfelt tribute shared on Saturday, June 29, Governor Fintiri remembered Dantata as an iconic businessman and generous philanthropist who left an indelible mark on commerce and humanitarian service across Nigeria.

“I mourn the passing of Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, a revered elder statesman, iconic businessman, and generous philanthropist whose life embodied service, humility, and legacy,” the governor said.

Reflecting on Dantata’s impact in Adamawa State, Governor Fintiri recalled the elder statesman’s last visit with warmth and respect: “I fondly recall his last visit to Adamawa—marked by wisdom, dignity, and fatherly counsel.”

The governor extended his prayers for the deceased, saying: “Nigeria has lost a pillar. May Allah (SWT) grant him Aljannatul Firdaus and comfort his family. Ameen.”

Alhaji Aminu Dantata, one of the last surviving patriarchs of the famous Dantata business dynasty, was widely known for his philanthropic endeavors, especially in northern Nigeria, where he supported education, healthcare, and religious development.

His passing marks the end of an era for both the business community and the nation at large.
