Gov Fintiri Receives Hama Bachama, Assures Bwatiye Community of Due Process

Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has received the Hama Bachama and a delegation representing the global Bwatiye community at the Government House, Yola, for discussions on development, infrastructure and the strengthening of traditional institutions.

The meeting focused on key development priorities affecting Numan and Lamurde Local Government Areas, including infrastructure expansion, community interests and the role of traditional institutions in promoting peace and sustainable development.

A major issue discussed was the ongoing situation surrounding the Dangote Sugar Refinery at Gyawana. Governor Fintiri assured the delegation that his administration would uphold due process, protect legitimate community land rights and ensure transparency in all engagements concerning the project.

The Governor also reviewed ongoing efforts by the State Government and stakeholders to restore lasting peace and stability in Lamurde LGA, noting that the relative calm recorded over the past two months provides an opportunity to advance rehabilitation and recovery efforts.

Fintiri disclosed that the State Government will soon establish a rehabilitation committee to support families affected by the crisis and facilitate the rebuilding of communities and areas impacted by the disturbances.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to inclusive development, protection of community interests and the restoration of sustainable peace across Adamawa State.
