Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has directed the immediate implementation of all outstanding promotions for civil servants in the state, with full financial benefits to be paid before the end of May.
The governor gave the directive while receiving the leadership of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Adamawa State chapter, at the Government House in Yola.

During the meeting, Governor Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s strong commitment to workers’ welfare and career progression, stressing that civil servants remain central to effective governance and service delivery.
He assured the labour leaders that his government would continue to prioritize policies that uplift the workforce, eliminate bottlenecks in promotion processes, and ensure that workers receive their due entitlements without unnecessary delays.
In a remark that underscored his administration’s approach to governance, the governor stated, “My workers don’t have to cry before I lend them a handkerchief. I’d rather keep it that way.”
The directive is expected to boost morale across the state civil service, reinforcing confidence in the government’s resolve to reward diligence and maintain a motivated workforce.
