Gov Fintiri Inaugurates Lamurde Peace Committee to Address Bachama–Chobo Conflict

Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri has officially inaugurated the Lamurde Peace Committee as part of decisive efforts to resolve the lingering conflict between the Bachama and Chobo communities.

The Governor said the move underscores his administration’s commitment to restoring peace, stability, and unity in affected areas, noting that meaningful development can only thrive in a peaceful environment.

Gov Fintiri stressed that peace must be built on dialogue, justice, and mutual respect among all parties. He charged members of the committee to engage widely with stakeholders across the communities, ensuring that every voice is heard in the reconciliation process.

He further tasked the committee with proposing practical and sustainable solutions that will lead to lasting harmony, improved security, and socio-economic development in Lamurde Local Government Area.

The Governor reaffirmed his government’s readiness to support all peace-building initiatives and called on community leaders, youth groups, and residents to cooperate fully with the committee for the success of its assignment.
