Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has enforced an immediate ban on all illegal mining activities in Lamurde Local Government Area following the receipt of a preliminary report from the Lamurde Peace Mediation Committee.
The action comes as part of urgent measures to address the escalating crisis in the area, with the Governor stressing that his administration will not tolerate any activity contributing to violence and instability.

Governor Fintiri issued a stern warning that anyone found fueling unrest or violating the directive will face the full weight of the law, noting that security agencies have been directed to ensure strict compliance.
He reaffirmed that restoring lasting peace remains the top priority of his government, alongside protecting lives and property and creating a safe environment for displaced residents to return to their homes.
The Governor further assured that his administration will continue to act decisively on the committee’s findings to address the root causes of the conflict and secure sustainable peace in Lamurde and across Adamawa State.
