Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has commissioned the newly constructed Government House Jumu’ah Mosque in Yola, describing the facility as an important addition that will serve the religious needs of the Government House community and beyond.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by prominent Islamic scholars, traditional rulers and religious leaders, including Sheikh Aminu Daurawa and Sheikh Abubakar Muktar Yola.
Governor Fintiri, who expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the completion of the mosque, said the facility would provide a conducive place of worship and strengthen the spiritual life of those within the Government House community.
He used the occasion to call on citizens to uphold the Islamic values of peace, tolerance and mutual understanding, stressing the need for people of different faiths and backgrounds to continue living together in harmony.
The governor urged citizens to promote unity and strengthen the bonds that bind the people of Adamawa State together despite their religious and cultural differences.
Fintiri prayed that the new mosque would serve as a beacon of peace, unity and spiritual guidance, while contributing to the promotion of peaceful coexistence across the state.
