Adamawa State Government Approves N510m Projects to Strengthen Judiciary, Infrastructure, and Agriculture.

The Adamawa State Executive Council, under the chairmanship of Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has approved a total of N510 million for key projects aimed at strengthening the judiciary, improving infrastructure, and boosting agricultural productivity.

Briefing journalists after the 17th EXCO meeting in Yola, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, James Iliya, announced that N185 million has been set aside for the purchase of residential property for industrial court judges. He explained that the initiative is to provide judges with decent accommodation, thereby enhancing their efficiency and service delivery. The contract was awarded to Fatima M. Mandara.

The Council also approved N125 million for consultancy services covering the design and supervision of a new Civil Service Commission complex in Yola, as well as the renovation of the state’s liaison office in Abuja. Group One Dimension Ltd will handle the project.

In addition, the government approved N200 million as counterpart funding for the Sustainable Power and Irrigation for Nigeria Project (SPIN). The project is expected to promote renewable energy, expand irrigation facilities, and boost agricultural productivity, with the potential to create jobs for youths across the state.

Commissioner Iliya noted that these approvals underscore Governor Fintiri’s commitment to strengthening institutions, improving infrastructure, and driving sustainable development in Adamawa.
