Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has officially flagged off the reconstruction of the 24.1-kilometre Mubi–Maiha Road, a major infrastructure project aimed at transforming the economic landscape of the area and strengthening cross-border ties with neighbouring Cameroon.
Speaking during the flag-off ceremony on Thursday, Governor Fintiri described the road as a vital economic link that will ease movement, enhance trade, and improve the livelihoods of thousands of residents along the route.
“This road may be federal, but Adamawa cannot wait,” the governor declared. “We’re building for everyone no one will be left behind, and nothing will be left untouched.”

The Mubi–Maiha corridor serves as a crucial artery for trade and cultural exchange between Nigeria and Cameroon, with Mubi being one of Adamawa’s most vibrant commercial hubs. The reconstruction is expected to stimulate economic growth, improve access to markets, and promote social integration across the border communities.
Governor Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s resolve to continue investing in critical infrastructure that connects communities and opens up opportunities across the state.
Residents and local leaders in attendance commended the governor’s commitment, noting that the project will address long-standing challenges of poor road conditions that have hindered transportation and economic activities in the area.
With the reconstruction now underway, the Mubi–Maiha Road stands as another symbol of Governor Fintiri’s inclusive governance and determination to deliver sustainable development throughout Adamawa State.
