Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State has embarked on a significant urban renewal initiative with the approval of N16 billion for the construction of 17 kilometers of roads in Bajabure Housing Estate and surrounding communities in Girei Local Government Area.
During the Wednesday executive council meeting, Governor Fintiri reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing urban infrastructure and ensuring a robust road network in key areas of the state. The decision to allocate funds for road construction underscores the government’s dedication to improving the living standards and mobility of residents in Bajabure Housing Estate.
The executive council also approved a variation of the contract for road construction at the 1000 Housing Estate in Malkohi, further demonstrating the government’s proactive approach to infrastructure development across Adamawa State.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Neido Geoffrey, accompanied by the Commissioners of Works and Energy Development, as well as Education, provided insights into the road construction projects. The contract for the road network in Bajabure Housing Estate was awarded to Messrs Triacta Nigeria Ltd, with a stipulated completion period of 12 months.
The approval of these road construction projects reflects the state government’s commitment to improving transportation infrastructure, fostering economic development, and enhancing the overall quality of life for residents in Adamawa State. As construction commences, residents can look forward to safer and more accessible roadways that will facilitate connectivity and promote growth in the region.
