Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State received a courtesy visit from the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Adamawa State Chapter, led by Comrade Emmanuel Fashe, at his office. The visit was organized to express gratitude for the state government’s recent implementation of the N70,000 minimum wage, which was successfully paid to workers this month.
During the visit, Governor Fintiri reiterated his unwavering commitment to the welfare of the state’s workforce. “When it comes to matters affecting the common man or our workforce, I, Fintiri, will not hesitate to implement policies for the greater good,” he stated.
The governor also encouraged the federal government to take proactive steps to address the needs of the Nigerian people. “People shouldn’t have to protest or cry out before we listen,” Fintiri remarked, calling on the Federal Government to “put on their thinking caps” and do more to alleviate the struggles of ordinary Nigerians.
The NLC Adamawa Chapter, through Comrade Fashe, expressed their appreciation for the Governor’s prompt action on the minimum wage, acknowledging it as a significant step towards improving the living standards of workers in the state.
