Adamawa State Governor, Rt. Hon. Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has presented a ₦583 billion budget proposal for the 2026 fiscal year to the Adamawa State House of Assembly, with a strong emphasis on capital investment aimed at accelerating development across the state.
The Governor said the 2026 budget is deliberately structured to drive growth in critical sectors, particularly road infrastructure, education, and healthcare, which he described as the backbone of sustainable development and improved quality of life for citizens.




According to Gov Fintiri, a significant portion of the proposed budget is dedicated to capital projects to ensure the completion of ongoing infrastructure works and the initiation of new projects that will enhance connectivity, expand access to social services, and stimulate economic activities across urban and rural communities.
The Governor expressed appreciation to members of the Adamawa State House of Assembly for their bipartisan cooperation and support, noting that the cordial relationship between the executive and legislative arms has remained crucial to the steady progress recorded by the state.
Gov Fintiri stated his confidence that the Assembly would give the proposal prompt and thorough consideration, adding that timely passage of the budget would enable early implementation and ensure that the people of Adamawa begin to feel its impact without delay.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and people-oriented governance, stressing that the 2026 budget is designed to consolidate gains already made while laying a stronger foundation for long-term development in Adamawa State.
