Heavy rainfall this afternoon has caused serious flooding in parts of Jimeta, Yola North Local Government Area, damaging shops and business premises along Gimba Road.
The flood, which occurred just minutes after the downpour, swept through rows of commercial outlets, soaking goods, damaging equipment, and leaving traders counting significant losses. Many shop owners were seen trying to salvage merchandise as water poured into their stalls.
While roads in the area remain passable, the flood has disrupted commercial activity and raised concerns in these busy business zones.
Local authorities are expected to conduct an on-the-spot assessment, while residents and traders are being urged to take precautionary measures to protect valuables during further rainfalls forecast in the coming days.
