Adamawa Govt Debunks Claim of Expired Food Distribution to Flood Victims

The Adamawa State Government has dismissed as false the circulating claims that it distributed expired food items to victims of recent flooding in the state.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the government described the allegation as “desperate political propaganda” aimed at discrediting the ongoing relief efforts spearheaded by Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri’s administration.

According to official clarification, the relief packages which include essential food items such as spaghetti and rice remain within their shelf life. The spaghetti supplied to victims is valid until 2026, while the rice is valid until 2028.

The government reaffirmed its commitment to the welfare of all residents, stressing that only safe, quality-assured food is distributed to disaster-hit communities.

Governor Fintiri urged the public to disregard misinformation and remain united in supporting the state’s humanitarian interventions, particularly in the wake of the flooding that has displaced hundreds of residents.
