In a significant milestone for the state’s democratic process, Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri presided over the swearing-in ceremony of the 21 newly elected Local Government Council Chairmen of Adamawa State. The ceremony, held in Yola, marked the successful conclusion of the recent local government elections.
Governor Fintiri highlighted the significance of this event as a triumph for democracy and a testament to the trust that the people of Adamawa State have in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). “Their victories mark a triumph for our democracy and a testament to the trust our people have in the PDP,” he stated.
In his address to the newly elected Chairmen, Governor Fintiri emphasized the importance of their roles as leaders and representatives of the people. He charged them to be true reflections of the party’s promises and to uphold the values and commitments made during their campaigns. “As leaders of our people, you must be true reflections of our party’s promises. Your leadership should embody the trust and hopes that our citizens have placed in you,” he urged.
The Governor also reiterated his administration’s commitment to supporting the local governments in achieving their development goals and enhancing the welfare of the citizens. “We will continue to work together to ensure that the vision of a prosperous and progressive Adamawa State is realized,” he assured.
